2005: Bournemouth
A trip plagued with casualties, from Sketchley's traditional annual bowing out around November of the previous year, to Bruce, Steve and Pete, usual stalwarts folding with 3 months to go, through to Nick's last minute decision to go and visit his boss on the final day.
Luckily Chris came along to show us all how to play golf for a day and a half and then the effects of the local booze shop kicked in. But at least he made it round the final day. Unlike his teammate Bovis who fouled several lanes of the M3 a number of times on his emergency dash home and caused 14 miles of tailbacks as the emergency services struggled to clean up the spillage
Nevertheless, 3 enjoyable days and another 3 course notches on the Antiqua bedpost
Isle of Purbeck was a challenge for the SatNav boys but had a spectacular view of a certain barmaid AND Poole Harbour
Dorset Golf & Country was intriguing for its 27 holes across Lakeland, Parkland and Woodland but didn't have the same charm as Purbeck's hills
Meyrick Park is a dog walker's favourite in the middle of Bournemouth but was still a lovely mature course established over 100 years ago and had some incredibly tricky holes, not least the opening 240 yard Par3
The side bet between Dave and Rob went all the way to the last hole, with Dave winning by exactly 21 shots to save the loss on the single round 21 so all square in the end.
Some pictures of the golf are available. Please let me know if you've got any pics of the evenings.
